During my various courses at Auburn, I have been introduced to many aspects of the AUTODESK software package. I have had the opportunity to work with Inventor 2015, AutoCAD 2015, and Civil 3D 2015. The following are examples of the different types of projects I have done with each different software.
During my BSEN 2210, Engineering Methods of Biological Systems, class, I was tasked with drawing a the different parts of a robot arm and assembling them. For this project, I was given some parts of the robot arm and others were left out. I learned to draw the other parts of the robot arm so they would match in length and position, as well as how to assemble them and constrain them to the other pieces. A drawing of my final arm is shown below.
In AutoCAD, I was given the opportunity to create my own map using a preexisting map. I was given the basic background of the Auburn University campus and I then imported information taken from a survey to create a new map. The project shown below is a survey of the sprinkler system in front of the Corley Building on Auburn University's campus. I used the map given, along with the imported information from the survey to create this map. Creating this map also gave me the opportunity to learn how to build a scale bar in AutoCAD and import objects such as a legend and a north arrow. This type of experience will be very useful in the future when I have to create maps from surveys of land that is being newly developed. A picture of my map is shown here.
